Description:
Greater Plantain, also known as Broadleaf Plantain, Cart Track Plant, Waybread, and Cuckoo's Bread, is a nutritious, wild edible plant native to Europe and northern and central Asia. Plantain Leaf is not related to the fruit called plantain, which is a type of banana. The young and tender leaves of plantain have been traditionally eaten as a salad green, but become tough and fibrous as they get older. Plantain leaves were commonly used in folk medicine for skin poultices on wounds, sores, or insect stings.
